Nietzsche, as we know, deplored the 'hitherto' chance nature of greatness - of Nature's 'lucky strokes' -, and sought to create an arena for the certain production of a Master Race. Human history has, in the main, been about the Herd. Nietzsche articulated the very nature of the Nobility, and how such a self-defining aristocratic caste should create increasing Distance between itself and the majority of Herdhumans;"We have recognised the tremendous randomness that thus far has been at play in determining the future of mankind ... He saw the main ideological obstacle to this Order of Rank to lie in 'Morality'; to Over-come [i.e., surpass and conquer] Morality is the main task in the first two centuries after Nietzsche's death in 1900.In fact, the first 100 years went somewhat according to plan. Nietzsche wrote in 1885-6;
"I am talking about an increase in the Russian threat so great that Europe would have to decide to become equally threatening, that is, to make use of a new ruling caste in order TO GAIN A WILL, a terrible, long-lived Will of its own that could set itself goals over thousands of years - so that the long-drawn-out comedy of its small-state system and likewise the multiple Wills of its dynasties and democracies would finally come to an end. The time for petty politics is over: even by the 20th century, we will be battling for Mastery over the Earth - FORCED into politics on a Grand Scale".[Nietzsche BGE 208, published 1886]

The Nietzschean philosopher [and not his liberal perversion] can, " with one single glance grasp everything that MANKIND COULD BE BRED TO BE if all its energies and endeavours were gathered together and heightened; with all the knowledge of his conscience, he knows how mankind's greatest possibilities have as yet been untapped, and how many mysterious decisions and new paths the human type has already encountered ..." In that we have the Janus nature of the project - drawing from the past while surging ahead into the unknown labyrinth of the future; - past greatness is our Ari-adne's thread.
Make no mistake, the Mass man and modern slave is being bred, willingly in most cases; that is not the real problem. The task for this century is to 'breed' an elite Master Race who are completely beyond good and evil, and are intent only on Distant Goals; they will hold both technology, and mankind, in the palm of their hands.This is actually a Fate: it is happening.

Greatness is not possible without the past [which is part of the present and future in circular time].The lack of respect for tradition is the key to today's moribund Western culture.Hitler shows in the Table Talk that he was far more cultured than the philistine leaders of the Allies.
